Microsoft Community Day will take place on Thursday 24th June 2010 in Utopolis, Mechelen, where we will
bring together over 300 IT Pro’s and developers.

Using simple examples the roadmap to evolve from applications with ‘hardcoded’ authentication and authorization logic, to applications that support federation and external identity providers will be demonstrated.

This should give you a feel for what a functional program in F# looks like. In a second part, we'll see some real world applications and examples of F# in action. We'll conclude with some pointers so you can continue exploring F# on your own.

The component that enables this is the service broker, a message based system which allows for dialogs between two SQL server instances.

During this session, we will first introduce the terminology and features of this framework, then we will discuss some of the scenarios in which it can be used, and we will conclude by implementing a small service broker application.

Dr. Nico Jacobs was a researcher at the Computer Science department, KULeuven for seven years, where he obtained his PhD in machine learning (data mining). Since 2004, he is trainer and consultant at U2U, where he focuses primarily on SQL Server and the Business Intelligence back-end.

20:00-21:00: Developing flexible workflows in SharePoint Server 2007 [Peter Plessers] - Besides adding custom workflows through SharePoint Designer, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 offers the possibility to host custom-developed workflows based on Windows Workflow Foundation to support a company’s business processes. It might however be a challenge to develop these workflows in such a way that they can be easily adapted to the evolving business processes it supports. This session presents a number of techniques to develop workflows that are easy to adapt. We start off with a simple workflow example and let it evolve into a flexible workflow that can even be changed at runtime.
<a10:updated>2009-10-15T18:00:00+02:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>http://www.winsec.be/</a10:name><a10:uri>http://www.winsec.be/</a10:uri></a10:author>

New event added: MS NAP & Cisco NAC hand in hand on 26/11/2009

Location	:	Cisco Belgium Office, Pegasus Park

During this presentation, best practices for securing a virtual environment based on Microsoft’s Hyper-V are discussed, both from the angle of the Hyper-V host as from the angle of the guests. Further it will be shown how you can use Authorization Manager (AzMan) to provide role-based access control for Hyper-V, separating host administrators from guest administrators and precisely delegating control to them, which will also be shown using System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SC VMM).
<a10:updated>2009-10-01T18:30:00+02:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>http://www.sqlug.be</a10:name><a10:uri>http://www.sqlug.be</a10:uri></a10:author>

New event added: SQL Server Day 2009 on 3/12/2009

The Belgian SQL Server User Group (SQLUG.BE vzw) and Microsoft decided to join efforts to celebrate the availability of the first pre-release version of SQL Server 2008 R2 in the market and organize for the 2nd year the Belgian SQL Server Day.

The goal of this session is to identify these risks, and show proven ways to mitigate these, or reduce the impact.

The second part of the session will show some techniques for minimizing downtime during the upgrade, to a point where the application can remain online.

This session will focus on the upgrade process for the Database engine, not on the differences between the versions, or the upgrade process of other SQL Server components

Agenda:
18:00 Registration
18:30 Session Start
21:00 Session End
